Basmeh and Zeitooneh was launched in September 2012 with field visits to areas with high concentrations of the most marginalized and neediest Syrian refugees the main goal of the visits is to assess the needs and to fill the gaps left by other aid agencies. The organization is officially registered NGO in Lebanon in 2014.

Basmeh & Zeitooneh has established an office in Gaziantep and has started to work in Development and Relief domain as Syrian Civil Society Organization in 2014 & officially registered in 2015.

Basmeh & Zeitooneh in Turkey is pleased to announce this job opportunity in Gaziantep, Turkey.

Job Title: Finance Officer (FO)

Reports to: Turkey Finance Manager

Line Management Responsibilities: yes

Duration of Initial Contract: Full-time/ 6 Months, with possibility for extension

Work Location: Gaziantep-TURKEY

Finance Officer will mainly be working with Finance Manager, and will be responsible of following up Cash flow, transfer, procedures, and reports for project

Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Manage Cash flow transactions on a daily basis.
  • Report to Turkey Finance Manager with financial statement and transactions on a daily basis.
  • Communicate with the accountants of the project on daily basis
  • Validate financial documents (Price Offer, Invoice, Payment Receipt…).
  • Track daily expenses (Transportation, Bills, incentives…)
  • Organize and archive all documents and receipts from different projects and donors.
  • Prepare monthly financial report.
  • Update accounting system files with data on a daily basis.

Education and Experience:

University degree in Economics or related field, Accounting department is preferable. Minimum two /2/ years of experience in Accounting, minimum one /1/ year in NGOs.

Required Skills:

  • Good knowledge of financial system procedures in Humanitarian Organizations.
  • Good level of oral and written English / Arabic Language, Turkish is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word), knowledge of an Accounting Application is an extra.
  • Good knowledge of could & data sharing applications (Google drive, Dropbox…).
  • Good experience with a least one accounting system / software
  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills.
  • Team work spirit.
  • Ability and willing to work overtime and on weekends (when necessary). Willing to travel to another city for auditing and monitoring procedure implementation.
