Turkey: English Language Mentor - Reyhanli

JOB BRIEF: The English Language Mentor will teach the English language to the community members of Reyhanli, Turkey through workshops, courses, and activities at the Karam House. S/he is responsible for coordinating and facilitating virtual learning sessions for the students with international mentors across the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Co-develop an English Language curriculum with creative activities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons

• Prepare teaching materials

• Mentor students to improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills

• Check and assess students’ work

• Facilitate English-related virtual learning sessions & workshops with international mentors

• Provide additional English language mentoring to students and staff

• Provide English translation services as needed (written + oral)

• Weekly reporting to Site Manager

• Monthly reporting to Site Manager

• Attend professional development training as needed

• Other tasks as may be assigned by the Site Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, Creative Writing, or Translation

• Native English speaker (preferred)

• 3-5 years experience in teaching or working with youth

• Outstanding communication and people skills

• Excellent spoken and written language skills, with English and Arabic

• Clear diction

• Patience

• Creativity and willingness to learn

• Good team member

• Competence in Google Drive (documents, spreadsheets)
