Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of North of Syria Program Manager, and close technical coordination with the Deputy Health Manager on Turkey side, and in close coordination with the Area manager on Syria side, the Health Program Coordinator will be responsible for overall technical project management and ensuring that the project objectives are on track. The position will be responsible of providing technical guidance and follow up to the field-based staff through the relevant field based focal point to ensure sufficient and high quality day-to-day services are delivered at RI-supported health facilities in line with the recommended/applicable health standards.

The Health Program Coordinator, through the Field Health Senior Officer, will work with the Medical Focal Points working in RI’s supported health facilities to ensure the provision of services and availability of appropriate skilled staff in the health projects. Moreover, in coordination with the Medical Commodities Coordinator will ensure the availability of appropriate drugs, medical supplies and equipment at the health facility level. Furthermore, will ensure training provision to staff according to the needs, ensure beneficiary satisfaction, staff accountability on standards of services, accurate and timely reporting and feedback and analysis of data.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the provision of health activities in RI-supported health facilities and determine necessary actions to correct course in line with technical log frame of projects and agreed standards.

· In coordination with the PM and Health technical unit, design and maintain monitoring and supervision tools for the field-based officers to be used in monitoring the service delivery at RI-supported health facilities in an efficient and high-quality manner.

· In Coordination with the Area manager, support and review the work plans developed by the Field Health Senior Officer and provide feedback as needed, and ensure regular follow up with the Field Health Sr. Officer on regular basis to determine and address any technical challenges hindering the work.

· In coordination with the Area manager/Program Manager, coordinate with the relevant local health authorities and other health actors working in the region as necessary (Syria side and Turkey side as needed), including but not limited to Health and Nutrition Clusters and other relevant technical working groups on Turkey side and remotely with DoH on Syria side.

· Coordinate with the Medical Commodities Coordinator (MCC) to ensure that appropriate medical supplies and equipment are ordered and provided to the supported health facilities on time, in addition to supporting the MCC in compiling monthly field drug consumption reports.

· Support North of Syria Program Manager in planning, development and implementation of the projects with heavy focus on the community health workers component.

· Support in compiling timely project reports while ensuring gathering of relevant health data, and performing weekly and monthly analysis.

· In Coordination with the deputy program manager, track the indicators of projects, ensure all indicators on track, and report for relevant departments.

· In coordination with the Area manager, provide technical support/supervision to the Field Health Senior Officer in planning and implementing community health activities and CHW trainings.

· In coordination with health unit Help with preparing staffing plans for medical staff in the project’s health facilities in line with agreed standards.

· Attend regular coordination internal meetings with the Health Unit and Syria Program Department.

· Support in conducting initial needs assessments for determining areas of assistance.

· In coordination with the health technical unit and PM responsible for ensuring RI training plans to doctors and health workers are implemented. This includes trainings on clinical guidelines such as (EWARN, MSF UNICEF and WHO) guidelines/standards.

· In coordination with HR, PM and Area manager, assist in training RI program staff to build capacity and ensure the maximum use of their skills, and their full and effective participation in health activities whilst conforming to RI and health authority protocols.

· In coordination with health unit Review and update all program outreach and resource materials to reflect comprehensive program activities.

· Assist in ensuring that activities implementation, monitoring and evaluations of programs are in line with the approved project proposal and budget.

· Conduct monitoring/assessment/in person capacity building visits to RI field offices and project sites when security situation permits and as requested by the supervisor.

· Translate health data as required.

· Any other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Medical graduate preferably with post-graduation in public health, social work, or related field.

· Must have at least 2 years’ experience working with INGOs in humanitarian or development contexts.

· Must be able to analyze and interpret data and to track performance against program indicators.

· Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.

· Must be skilled in Microsoft Office.

· Must have the ability to work effectively with various personalities and cultures.
