Poverty Reduction Programme Analyst, and the UNV Programme Analyst in Jerusalem, the international UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Helping in designing a project document for the youth economic empowerment using the TVET tools
  • Conduct desk review and focus groups for the most promising potential sectors based on the market needs. The output of this study should be determined the most attractive sectors in which to offer vocational training, the analysis should include: i. Economic trends in each sector; ii. Competition;
  • Conduct a desk review and focus groups for selecting the best technology transfer models and practices.
  • Contribute to the development of the TVET framework (short terms courses for unemployed youth) with the key stakeholders toward increase the youth employability’s using the economic empowerment tools (apprenticeship, the UNDP 3x6 Approach, or others applicable tools)
  • Lead the process for the negotiations and help in the design and planning of programs and projects related to Technical and Vocational education and training in Gaza that could be implemented by UNDP as a national program for job creation.
  • Monitor the implementation and progress of TVET Projects and interventions that UNDP implement with the stakeholders to guarantee quality control over the process.
  • Ensure coordination with the international agencies working in the TVET in Gaza, especially ILO, UNRWA, GIZ, EU delegation and others on implementation of joint activities.
  • Ensure coordination and collaboration with all national partners and to provide technical assistance to TVET Centres in areas concerning strategies, planning, management, implementation and evaluation.
  • Attend TVET technical meetings in ministries and report to UNDP.
  • In conjunction with the UNV Field Unit Palestine, work on design cost and deploy volunteer implementation modalities in the implementation of the programme, including youth, community, and national volunteers, at scale.
