Job Purpose
The Child Protection (CP) Capacity building senior officer, based in the Ihsan’s Gaziantep office, will be responsible for supporting a capacity building program. Ihsan work to support partners to develop their capacity in psychosocial assistance to Childs through Child-Friendly Space, provides counseling and case management for CP survivors and works to reduce risks to their safety and well-being in accordance with international humanitarian principles of safety. This is done within the framework on the CP sub-cluster Standard Operating Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the distribution of child protection materials, receiving requests from partners, issuing orders and documenting distribution;
- Collect and document human interest stories;
- Support in leading the child protection monitoring taskforce
- Establishing strong working relationships with the sub-cluster members to facilitate effective collaboration and communication during emergencies;
- Providing small translation jobs for the Child Protection Sub-Cluster and events
- Working with partners to identify best practices, collect information on them and plan learning sessions;
- Following up with partners on membership requests and information on programming;
- Assisting in delivering training activities for CP Sub-Cluster members, other local partners, and relevant authorities;
- Acting as the focal point to ensure that the DropBox is uploaded with all relevant documents and updates;
- Following up with sub cluster partners on service mapping and timely revision of information for building referral pathways;
- Support the sub-cluster information management, and-
- Conducting other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
Essential:**
- Bachelor degree in social work, Psychology, CP’s studies or any other relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in social work, psychosocial support/psychology, and case management in clinical and/or direct practice settings.
- Minimum of 1 year of management experience desired.
- Solid understanding of case management and survivor-centered care in humanitarian settings, particularly in relation to CP guidelines.
- Experience with CP information management, including analysis and reporting
- Strong experience in training with good facilitation skills and ability to organize and implement trainings on sensitive topics
- Previous experience in capacity building initiatives
- Strong understanding of humanitarian protection principles and standards
- Proven understanding of CP protection
- Demonstrated organizational, management and reporting skills;
- Interpersonal qualities: Works well in teams and promotes teamwork, flexible and able to handle pressure and conflict well in a calm and constructive manner
- Must be capable of applying their skills and knowledge in a range of capacities, including direct implementation, advisory functions, training and the transfer of technical knowledge and management skills to other
- Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and deadlines;
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to be flexible, adaptable, and creative in a challenging and fast-moving multicultural environment.
- High standards are written and spoken English and Arabic are Required
- Respect and apply all the PSEA principles, and show high commitment to report any SEA action.
Desirable:**
- Advanced degree in social work, Psychology, CP’s studies or any other relevant field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in social work, psychosocial support/psychology, and case management in clinical and/or direct practice settings.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience desired.
