About Rahma Relief Foundation: Rahma Relief Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 in Michigan, USA. A group of concerned citizens came together to establish Rahma Relief as a response to the urgent needs emerging as a result of the humanitarian crisis in Syria. Within three years of launching, Rahma Relief Foundation was able to expand its humanitarian aid to many different countries such as Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan, Greece, Sierra Leone, Ghana, and Bangladesh, which was made possible through diverse teams and local partners. Worldwide contribution of humanitarian aid expanded our horizons, knowledge and understanding of the Syrian context which led to building an experienced team of volunteers and employees who are committed to serving and helping the less fortunate, especially IDP's and refugees, while following the humanitarian principals during the implementation of any aid program. Rahma relies on a network of leaderships and local community covering wide range of the Syrian Lands which formed a strong basis for interventions in all regions
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of Finance Manager, the primary responsibility of the Finance Coordinator is to ensure compliance with organization’s/donors policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, to do technical financial review of RRF accounts.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversight of compliance procedures and accountability,
· Ensure proper compliance principles are followed.
· Ensure project allocation are accurate.
· Ensure that all financial procedures are in line with RRF policies and financial manual.
2. Closely coordinate with Program Department on payments to be made to sub-offices
· Review Backup documents and record advance in register and send reminder calendar to recipient to settle the advance tracker is up-to-date.
· Track advances to sub-offices
3. Support all activities related to budgeting, financial audit and management of RRF
· Review financial budgets and budget narrative of RRF and make sure that right costing of project expenses and host govt. statutory cost has been budgeted, e.g. social security contribution, taxes, severance, etc.
· Ensure that the sub-offices budget and expenditures are in line with the agreed upon budgets and strategic plans
· Provide support to and work closely with the sub-offices to ensure a quality and timely submission of periodic financial reports
· Identify / improve the financial reporting capacity of the organization
. Assist FM in external audits of the project and partner NGOs
4. Build capacity of Finance officers in sub-offices on review of financial and processing of Payments.
Qualification & Requirements:
1. Professional background: minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
2. Formal Education: Educated to bachelor’s level in related field such as Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Business Administration, or other educational background combined with relevant professional experience.
3. Essential Skills:
· Native Arabic speaker, fluent in English
· Previous experience in NGOs
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, especially Excel and Word
. Proficiency in Accounting softwares (QuickBooks)
· Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
· Ability to analyze problems and provide systematic solutions in line with established policies / procedures
· Ability and willingness to travel inside Syria when required
4. Personal Qualities:
· Excellent Monitoring, Reporting, Presentation, Facilitation and Communication skills.
· Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
· Flexibility
· Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to multi-task to meet deadlines
