Job Purpose
The PSS Officer is responsible for all aspects of technical project implementation, including the preparation, planning, organization, coordination and relations with members of the protection sector and local and international partners as well as the documentation for all the steps to implement the project.
The scope of the work includes close coordination with technical team and technical side of the project that’s mean working with team supervisors, technical trainers, consultant, cluster meeting and other NGO/ING.
Key Responsibilities
Projects implementation and management:
- Provide technical and administrative support to psychosocial projects; providing guidance on planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of MHPSS activities
- Conduct periodic project needs assessments and program reviews to ensure successful implementation and donor compliance related to PSS technical side.
- Develop the strategy and mechanisms to integrate mental health and psychosocial support into Ihsan programs, in line with IASC Guidelines.
- Ensure close coordination between the MHPSS component of the project and other components especially child protection, mine action and GBV.
- Participate and represent the project in regular staff meetings, meetings with donors, regional meetings etc.
- Identify program gaps, areas of growth, and strategies and support in adapting program Lead and participate in regular strategy and program planning workshops for MHPSS,CP and GBV and the overall organization
- Build accountability system, including incorporation of feedback mechanisms for staff and beneficiaries, into program.
- Participate in MHPSS, CP and GBV program development and proposal writing.
- Supervise all PSS activities in service centers
- Send technical reports regarding to the agreements of the projects
- Organize workplan for all CP and GBV technical activities.
- Provide trainings and follow-up sessions to the technical team
- Provide pre-and post-tests for the beneficiaries to measure the PSS activities impact.
- Respect and apply all the PSEA principles, and show high commitment to report any SEA action.
Human Resource management:
- Hire the projects team regarding to the Ihsan policies and technical needs of the projects.
- Manage the team and ensure they have opportunities to build their experience and knowledge in the relevant
- Ensure all team members have a work plan, performance management plan is in place and regular performance reviews are conducted.
Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountability may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
Essential:
- Bachelor/Diploma degree in Psychology/Psychological/Project management/business administration or related
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Technical work (PSS, CP and GBV)
- Good English language skills (written and spoken)
Desirable:
- Good knowledge and experience of working on protection program.
- Extent of knowledge and experience in emergency humanitarian needs assessment and response in the region.
- Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions is desirable
