SRD) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing humanitarian aid to Syrians affected by violence, hunger, poverty, injury and displacement. Our Mission is to provide crisis humanitarian relief and plant the seeds of sustainable development for the people of Syria. Our Vision is to maintain humanitarian relief and mobilize resources to develop a comprehensive agenda for sustainable development in Syria.
Main Objectives of this Position:
1-Local (Government) Reporting
· Ensure Compliance with Local legislation, SRD and donor requirements.
· Ensure accurate and timely submission of tax, social security and other mandatory reports required by local governmental bodies.
· End Results Expected: All reports required by local legislation ( Income tax, social security and other reports) are prepared and submitted within deadlines set by Legislation
2- Accounting, Compliance and Monitoring
· Ensure review of the source documents/ payment packages before processing the payments to ensure alignment with local legislation and SRD and donor regulations.
· Ensure accurate and timely financial data into the standard registers as required.
· Ensure payments are processed within 3 working days after complete supporting documents submitted to the Finance Department
· Ensure all bank accounts balances reconciled monthly
· Ensure all submitted EERs are reviewed timely and there are no outstanding advances to the staff.
· Assist Finance Manager in audit preparation to provide required information
· Prepare projects financial reports and Budget vs Actual analysis as required Perform site and partner monitoring visits
End Results Expected:
· Source documents and payment packages are reviewed and all outstanding issues are addressed before processing
· All cash and bank transactions are made into standard register on a daily basis
· All payments processed within 3 working days after complete supporting documents submitted to the Finance Department.
· Bank balances per books are the same with balances in Bank statement.
· Employee advances are cleared within the deadline.
· All accounts are reconciled and necessary adjustments are made
3-Perform other duties as required
· Keeping proper archiving both in hard and soft copies
· Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or a related field
· Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting position with medium business/medium NGO/government agency
· Experience with humanitarian aid in-country is a plus
· Practical Knowledge of financial systems, budget/cash flow monitoring and internal accounting controls.
· Computer aptitude and experience with word processing, database, management and spreadsheet software.
· Analytical skills and good attention to details.
· Proficiency in written and spoken English and local language
· Ability to travel within the country
