1.BACKGROUND:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population. Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering humanitarian and development programmes, Livelihood, Education, and Protection, to enable them to improve their living practices and their sustainability mechanisms.

Orange also collaborates with national and international non-governmental organizations, local initiatives responding to the humanitarian Syrian crisis with capacity development programmes, to be better equipped with the skills they need to prepare and respond to affected population’s needs and to ensure that these communities, which we work within, are ready for any future disasters.

2.PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

Orange Organization is implementing Economic Empowerment program in South West and East Turkey covering the following governates Gaziantep, Kahramanmaras, Sanliurfa, Hatay, Mersin, Osmaniye and Kilis. Orange Economic Empowerment Program aims to introduce the basic entrepreneurial knowledge, skills, and attitude to be provided to Syrian youth (university students in Turkey) in order to enable them to start-up, sustain, and grow their businesses within the host communities.

This Training aims at introducing the practical approaches for business ideation generation and development. This includes the knowledge and skills needed to create and adapt business ideas, and to assist learners develop business models for their new businesses. In addition, it introduces and analyzes the whole startup life cycle and giving a general overview of startup components including the inner and outer environments so that participant have the full image of the startup components.

3.SCOPE OF WORK

Getting up and running fast with this entrepreneurship program. This approach will provide beneficiaries with the basic knowledge and tools needed to launch their businesses. Using a hybrid approach, they will have access to a series of activities such as workshops, seminars, events, coaching and mentorship sessions, and specialized trainings and activities that will help them to develop their business concepts and evaluate the feasibility of their ideas. Develop marketing strategies to effectively reach customers, learn the secrets to financial analysis, and experience firsthand the power of relationships and networking. In-class sessions will include powerful peer exchanges and instructor feedback that will help them develop a viable business model and a strategy for success.

Startups and SMEs development process starts with a good business idea that is feasible, innovative, and functional. This module provides full overview about business ideation including business ideas characteristics, business ideas generation, ideas feasibility analysis, what makes an idea unique, marketable, and profitable.

Whenever a business enterprise is established, it either explicitly or implicitly employs a particular business model that describes the design or architecture of the value creation, delivery, and capture mechanisms it employs. The essence of a business model is in defining the manner by which the enterprise

delivers value to customers, entices customers to pay for value, and converts those payments to profit. It thus reflects management’s hypothesis about what customers want, how they want it, and how the enterprise can organize to best meet those needs, get paid for doing so, and make a profit. The purpose of this article is to understand the significance of business models and explore their connections with business strategy, innovation management, and economic theory.

3.1.The training is aimed to achieve the following objectives:

· Explain the basic characteristics of entrepreneurial business ideas.

· Understand the full overview of the business ideation processes and techniques.

· Prepare an initial feasibility analysis for a group of alternate business ideas.

· Understand the product life cycle for new ventures.

· Explore different techniques for ideas validation.

· Analyse the start-up components and anatomy from a wider prospective.

· Assess the start-up life cycle from the planning phase until growth or pivoting.

· Get introduced to critical factors affecting start-ups failure and success.

· Analyse the success factors against the failure factors for start-ups.

· Evaluate viability of the new business concept and opportunities.

· Discuss the concept of the value chain.

· Develop a business model for their new businesses.

3.2.METHODOLOGY:

3.2.1. Deliver using a blended learning approach and might comprises of presentations, interactive sessions of practical exercise and group works.

3.2.2. Practical sessions using case project(s), individual or group exercises will be given to participants after each session to make sure that they can apply what they have learnt into practice immediately.

3.2.3. Participatory training methods such as brainstorming, simulation, group discussion and case analysis.

3.3.KEY DELIVERABLES:

3.3.1.Following deliverables are expected from the training provider:

3.3.1.1. Trainer will prepare agenda/contents/sessions of the training and submit these at least one week before start of the training.

3.3.1.2. Trainer shall conduct pre-test from all participants of the training including calculating the marks for each student and measure their improvements using orange templates.

3.3.1.3. Trainer will facilitate preparation of training follow up and action plan

3.3.1.4. After the completion of the training, the trainer will share comprehensive training report on the agreed format within 10 days after the completion of the training.

3.3.1.5. The trainer will deliver the training at venue arranged by Orange.

3.4.LOCATION:

3.4.1. The location will be in Turkey, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Kahramanmaras, Mersin, Kilis, Hatay, and Osmaniye

3.5.TIMEFRAME

3.5.1. The stages of the training will take place staring from 15th of April till 15th of December 2019

3.6.DUITES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

3.6.1. The trainer/consultant/resource person will:

3.6.1.1. Sign with Orange a consultancy agreement and work as a resource person.

3.6.1.2. Design an appropriate process of the training leading to the desired results.

3.6.1.3. Propose on the most appropriate training methodology for effective delivery of the assignment.

3.6.1.4. Device the tools required for each session of the training.

3.6.1.5. Satisfactorily facilitate the training sessions and ensuring active engagement of all the participants.

3.6.1.6. Share relevant training materials and provide any resource materials for further reading and reference by Orange staff.

3.6.1.7. Design a questionnaire for pre and post-test (to be used before and after the workshop) for workshops to gauge the level of understanding of the participants about the topics discussed in the training workshop.

3.6.1.8. Compile and submit quality training report (one soft copy)

3.7.SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

3.7.1. The resource person/consultant should possess following qualifications and expertise:

3.7.1.1. A proven excellent background and hands on professional experience of market issues/marketing, practical knowledge of private sector development,

3.7.1.2. Proven experience of conducting trainings on participatory monitoring and evaluation for NGOs/CBOs.

3.7.1.3. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in conducting Trainings, planning and organizing market-oriented training for employment.

3.7.1.4. Proven experience of working with INGOs for conducting PM&E trainings

3.7.1.5. Strong communication, analytical and drafting skills

3.7.1.6. Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory – Turkish is desired.

3.7.1.7. Turkish language is preferable

4.SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

4.1.1. Consultant/resource person/ firms are required to submit their technical and financial proposals the Orange HR department on given email ID.

5.PROPOSED PAYMENT SCHEDULE:

5.1.1. 100% of the payment will be released to the trainer after completing the training by 15 working days.
