People in Need’s programs for war-affected Syrian population focus mainly on food security, rural rehabilitation and emergency education. PIN operates several programs in 2 locations in Northern Syria (Idlib and Aleppo regions) with its offices and field staff in Syria. Cross-border operations are managed from Turkey where PIN’s main office is established serving as administrative and logistics backing of program implemented directly or through partners in Syria.
Cash based program consist of large scale of activities involving different cash modalities (CFW, unconditional cash, food and NFI voucher) in order to support the beneficiaries according to their needs and market opportunities. Program Manager will be responsible of managing projects within the Program and to develop interlink with other programs and sectors, particularly Livelihood, WASH and NFI.
Main responsibilities:
- Remote management of the team in Syria, supervision and management of the projects’ budgets and activities
- Coordination with partners in the field and local authorities through the teams on the ground, directly engaging with partners at Turkey level
- Arranging the plans together with teams on the ground, designing the modality of response
- Cooperating in assessments’ designs and project development
- Responsible for both internal and external reporting and new proposal writing
- Ensuring that all PIN internal administrative procedures and rules are followed
- Pro-actively engaging in building inter-programs linkages to deliver multi sectoral assistance
- Coordinating with M&E, logistics, security and programs departments activities in field
- Represent PIN in the coordination and Working Groups and contribute to WG standards for Cash Assistance
Main requirements:
- Previous experience in Cash Assistance projects (at least 2 years)
- Proven experience in management of people and projects in emergency context
- High motivation to provide humanitarian assistance
- Fluent English both spoken and written, Arabic is an advantage
- Ability to quickly adapt and get oriented in new environment
- Ability do make strategic decisions even in stressful context, under time pressure
- Open to cultural differences and can adjust the managerial style while working with people coming from different cultural background
- Positive working attitude and good team spirit
