Turkey: PROCUREMENT AND LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR

Supervising all aspects of the procurement and logistic tasks including preparation, coordination, and documentation, ensuring that timely, proper support for projects implementation.

RESPONSIBILITY

• Assist in defining Procurement and Logistics strategy within WATAN policies and procedures and ensure effective integration of operations, including coordination with other units in the organization.
• Supervise Procurement and Logistics activities including all office administration tasks and logistics assets in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of WATAN’s goods and services.
• Responsible for following up all operational transport and warehousing activities, arrange for transport related contracts, including agency agreements, etc.
• Assist in ensuring effective Transport, Border, Storage and Handling management, with special attention for Special Operations; and Liaise closely with agents and suppliers to ensure cargo readiness.
• Assist in ensuring that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are regularly maintained.
• Supervise procurement, logistics and admin staff and ensure that all staff are adequately trained in order to achieve high working standards; Develop comprehensive training programs as required.
• Responsible for the follow up of the WATAN’s warehouse(s) and transport & vehicle fleet.
• Assist in ensuring effective food commodity and non-food items (NFI) management
• Monitor the quantity and quality of food commodity(ies) and NFIs stored, carry out regular commodity physical random checks/inventory of the warehouse and produce regular stocks reports
• Ensure that WATAN standard waybills and forms are duly filled.
• Undertake other related duties as required by the Procurement and Logistics Manager

POSITION REQUIREMENT

• Minimum Education Degree: Bachelor Degree
• Languages: Arabic, English and Turkish preferred
• Minimum five years of related humanitarian aid procurement, logistics, administration experience, Safety & Security experience is a plus.
• Ability to make sound, practical and timely judgments.
• Highly developed intellectual, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Compassion, empathy, and respect for the essential dignity of all persons.
• Punctual, reliable, well prepared and organized.
• Ability to work independently without supervision, and effectively manage a heavy workload.
• Ability to work at a fast pace while also handling the stress and pressure.
