About Badael:
Badael, was founded in 2013 in response to the urgent need to strengthen inclusive, representative, grassroots civil society groups (CSGs) in Syria. We support local-level peacebuilding, rights-based campaigning, and non-violent activism through capacity building, research, and advocacy. A firm commitment to women’s rights and gender equality is evident throughout our work, reflecting Badael’s core belief that mobilizing and empowering women must be a central component of any effort to build sustainable peace in Syria. In Syria, our multi-faceted activities benefit CSGs engaged in our focus areas, as well as the communities they serve.
Job Summary:
The Finance and Admin Intern will be responsible for assisting and supporting the work of both aspects. The Intern will work closely with the Finance and Admin Assistant in Istanbul Office, and reporting to the Finance and Admin Manager.
This is an unpaid internship that will last approximately 12 weeks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the enhancement of the financial filing system.
Support the finance team with the tracking and recording of expenses.
Support in preparing payment/receipt vouchers.
Provide general administrative support (documents filing, sending mails, Scanning, travel and accommodation booking, monitoring data, contacting service providers, preparing logistics for meetings/workshops, etc.).
Any other task that may be assigned by the Director of Finance & Administration.
At the start of the internship, an internship plan will be formulated by the intern and his/her supervisor in order to focus on areas beneficial to the intern’s future career. The internship plan may require the intern to deliver an end product at the end of the internship.
Qualifications:
· Holds or currently enrolled in BSc in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
· Good communication skills both verbally and written, in Arabic and English. Knowledge of Turkish is a plus.
· Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
· Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
· Demonstrated flexibility to changing situations and priorities. Demonstrated commitment to Badael values (Respect, Diversity and Integrity) and teamwork.
