Hand in Hand for Aid and Development (HIHFAD) is a UK registered charity that has been at the forefront of providing humanitarian aid in Syria since the start of the conflict in 2011.
Established by a group of British-Syrians, the charity has grown to become one of the leading humanitarian actors that serves the Syrian communities both within Syria and in neighbouring countries.
Today HIHFAD employs more than 770 members of staff, including over 700 members on the ground in Syria.
We have two operational offices in Turkey, as well as an international presence in Germany, London, Birmingham and Nottingham.
As the organization grows, it now handles multiple institutional donors such as UN, ECHO, International NGOs and bilateral governmental agencies.
Job Responsibilities:
1- Perform all logistic operations in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, partner organizations and donors.
2- Purchases the supplies, equipment and goods for the office and field sites according to the organization’s rules and regulations, and prepare all the required documents and paper work related to it.
3- Makes sure the deliveries are processed in an adequate and timely manner,
4- Maintain continuous search for reliable and eligible suppliers, sellers, service providers and contractors, and Maintain an up-to-date supplier lists,
5- Negotiating with suppliers, sellers, service providers and contractors in order to obtain the best regarding quality, prices, time required, delivery terms..etc.
6- Support the Logistics Team in compiling and timely submitting all the relevant reporting of the logistics department to the organization’s management, donors and relevant parties,
7- Cooperation with the management of warehouses to ensure that all the necessary procedures of receiving and storing materials are implemented.
8- Assign assets tags for assets and equipment and ensure regular update for any change to it,
9- Tracking HIHFAD equipment and materials maintenance operations.
10- Participation in supervising on the movement of HIHFAD vehicles and reviewing the daily journey management of these cars and vehicles.
11- Perform any other duties as assigned by the procurement and logistics officer in accordance with nature of his work.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
· University or Institute Graduate degree.
Skills and Experience:
· Good skills in spoken and written English and Turkish.
· Ability to meet deadlines, performing duties on time and possessing time management skills.
· Ability to work under pressure, making decisions in urgent situations, problem solving skills
· Good skills in Office package.
· At least one year experience with NGO or INGO.
· English skills and Turkish skills are required
