Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Preferred Bachelors in Agronomy, Food Technology or Agricultural Engineering. Significant relevant experience would be considered, SPHERE certification preferred
General Work Experience:
3-5 years as a Project Manager with relevant experience and understanding of the food security field, that has the flexibility to deal rapidly with numerous and often simultaneous problems in an effective manner. Patient and good communicator who can function in an organization employing a multi-national staff, and whose sites are geographically distributed in areas of the country difficult to access during certain periods of the year. Remote management experience desired. Previous experience in a humanitarian setting is essential, as well as experience working on cash, voucher or food distributions or other food security programming particularly agricultural projects.
Role Purpose:
Ensure effective implementation of Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) programming in Syria, ensuring activities are in line with community and beneficiary needs and that project activities are implemented to a high quality. Responsible for overall project management in the sector, ensuring proper project documentation and compilation of project data, sharing information with FSL Field staff, other NGOs and coordination structures, and ensuring activities progress according to donor requirements and the set implementation plans.

- Languages : Good in English (writing –reading –speaking ) other language will be desired especially Arabic/ Turkish

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Organise studies and market research in coordination with MEAL department to gain strong assessment information in food security, agriculture and livelihoods.
- Build food consumption estimates and local needs understanding from studies in order to anticipate amounts to be purchased or demanded
- Conduct Livelihoods and Market research and studies.
- Manage food security, agriculture and livelihood projects for SR
- Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve projects, performance.
- Managing the FSL Team effectively and ensuring timely reporting and feedback
- Coordinating with programme development
- Preparing proposals, reports, concept notes and budgets for FSL projects
- Ensure progress - deliverables are being completed within the baseline time scales
- Ensure the cost - deliverables are being completed within the baseline cost plan
- Ensure the quality - deliverables are being completed to defined expectations
- Monitor Performance (Value) and that progress is being earned for the expected cost
- Ensure that cash flow is being achieved as the defined expectationseporting - regular and timely reporting of project progress to the Donors
- Manage foreseen project risk, mitigating as necessary
- Managing changes to the project without unduly affecting the stated objectives and benefits
- Produce a progress report monthly
- Weekly communication meetings with Team Principals
- Review weekly progress reports of Team Principals
- Induct new team members into the sector team
