About Badael:

Badael was founded in 2013 in response to the urgent need to support inclusive, representative, grassroots civil society groups (CSGs) active in peacebuilding, human rights, and nonviolent activism in Syria. Our work is focused on three activity areas: capacity building, research, and advocacy. More recently, Badael has also expanded its focus to include working directly on rights-based issues facing Syrian refugees, which will constitute a major component of our activities moving forward.

Job Summary:

The Project Development Intern will be primarily be responsible for assisting with grants research and proposal writing. The Intern will work closely with Badael’s team to identify relevant calls for proposals that fall in line with the organization's mission and programs, research identified opportunities, contribute to project development, and assist with the writing and editing of concept notes and proposals. The right candidate should hold a university degree in development, international relations, political science, or a related field, preferably also holding a post-graduate degree with previous experience in a similar position**.** S/he should also have excellent verbal and written English, and preferably be a native English speaker.

This is an unpaid internship that will last approximately 16 weeks.

Functions:

· Be familiar with the requirements and formats of different donors.

· Work closely with Badael’s team to develop concept papers based on Badael's strategy.

· Assist in developing project proposals according to agreed program strategy.

· Drafting proposal-related documents, profile, fact sheet, etc.

· Identify and map donors according to Badael’s donor strategy.

· Assist in donor reporting when needed.

Qualifications:

· Related University degree, post graduate level preferred.

· Fluent in English, English native speaker preferred.

· Proficiency with MS Office.

· Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in peace-building and human rights.

· Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills

· Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

· Ability to apply attention to detail and consistently produce work in timely manner.

· Eagerness to be creative and take initiative on new ideas and project

· Previous experience successfully managing social media accounts (preferred)

· Graphic design experience preferred (particularly in user-friendly tools such as Canva)
