Syria Relief & Development (SRD) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing humanitarian aid to Syrians affected by violence, hunger, poverty, injury and displacement. Our Mission is to provide crisis humanitarian relief and plant the seeds of sustainable development for the people of Syria. Our Vision is to maintain humanitarian relief and mobilize resources to develop a comprehensive agenda for sustainable development in Syria.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Creating and maintaining all procurement policies to comply with international standards.
Ø Supervise the implementation of procurement policies and meeting deadlines.
Ø Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
Ø Participate in public tender’s management including evaluation of prices and materials quality.
Ø Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
Ø Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with customers.
Ø Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.
Ø Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
Ø Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
Ø Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
Ø Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
Ø Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
• BA/BSC in a medical Degree or relevant field. At least 3 years’ work experience or similar: Experience of project management or international development/humanitarian and NGO sector works would be an advantage.
• Must have excellent communications skills, oral Conversation and written.
• Must have excellent self-motivation skills.
• Ability to relate to and motivate staff effectively.
• Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources.
• Excellent decision making skills.
• Strong English writing speaking and presentation skills.
