General Description of the Organization:
Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of conflict affected population.
Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering humanitarian and development programmes, Livelihood, Education, and Protection, to enable them to improve their living practices and their sustainability mechanisms.
Orange also collaborates with national and international non-governmental organizations, local initiatives responding to the humanitarian Syrian crisis with capacity development programmes, to be better equipped with the skills they need to prepare and respond to affected population’s needs and to ensure that these communities, which we work within, are ready for any future disasters.
Job purpose:
The role of the Grants and Partnerships Director is to develop relations and partnerships with donors and partners with Orange, to promote a culture of partnerships in all aspects of the Orange team, and to make sure that Orange procedures in line with donors’ requirements. The Grants and Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for wide chain of operations including developing the capacity assessment of partners.
The Grants and Partnerships Director will be solutions oriented and will focus on developing and improving relations. This position will report to the CEO and working closely with Syria and Managing Directors.
Duties, objectives and competencies:
Communications and Partnerships
· Maintain the day-to-day communication with partners’ management team and stay in regular contact with them, and Lead partnerships with Syrian NGOs, INGOs and relevant service providers.
· Act as a focal point for partner’s and donors’ questions and queries and facilitate the flow of information between partners and Orange.
· Work with the finance team to ensure compliance with donor requirements and to harmonize partner proposals with funding applications
· Liaise with in-country donors and key government agencies, providing regular updates on projects activities as deemed necessary.
· Develop and maintain partnerships with other agencies.
· Work closely with CEO and directors to maintain high quality and up-to-date external communications and publications about Orange projects and achievements
· Communicate and engage with target Syrian NGOs and be focal point for capacity building programs by attending relevant capacity building events, cluster meetings and relevant Government organizations including local Governorates and UN agencies to assess their capacity building needs.
· Regularly conduct capacity assessments, develop performance improvement plans, and support the integration of more responsive systems, tools, or protocols.
· Track and report on all revenue streams related to partnerships and individuals.
· Represent Orange to clusters and working groups and other stakeholders including NGOs and CSOs to share experience and keep updated for grants.
Grants Management, Compliance, and Reporting:
· Develop and maintain grants management tools, such as funding trackers, reporting calendars, templates, and compliance guideline documents; and ensure the team is aware of these timelines
· Support production of donor reports and ensure that reports are of high quality and submitted on time
· Responsible for the development of proposals and applications for new and continuing projects,
· Work closely with CEO and head of departments to compile information required for high quality proposals
· Identify new fundraising development opportunities and opportunities for partnerships on applications.
· Effectively manage on a day-to-day basis fundraising budgets, vendors, and required external relationships
· Review draft reports submitted from the field and provide technical support to improve on the quality of the information provided, coherence and completeness of the reports.
Coaching and Management
· Help to prioritize partnerships and grants functions and tasks, ensuring that adequate staff are assigned to centres/departments to carry out their tasks
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, MA is preferred.
· Previous INGO work experience or leading LNGO with increasing responsibility
· Experience with institutional donors (i.e. DFID, OFDA, ECHO, GIZ, UN agencies)
· Strong communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with multiple parties and external stakeholders
· Sound judgement and ability to make impartial recommendations
· Experience of training and capacity building
· Experience in report-writing
· Excellent English language skills (spoken, written and reading)
· Hard-working, proactive and able to prioritise and delegate a demanding workload
