Job Title: Media Coordinator

Department: Communications and Programs Department

Report to: Communications and Programs Manager

Job Grade: G4

Job Purpose

To develop, maintain, and update the organization website, including the production of web content, in a manner that is appealing to the targeted audience. The Social Media and Web Content Officer will be responsible for writing, editing, and proofreading site content under the supervision of the CPD Coordinator of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Knowledge of blogging ecosystem relevant to the organization’s field.
  • Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in Social Media.
  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application.
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Possesses functional knowledge and/or personal experience with WordPress.
  • A Team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary. (ie: content development, creation and editing of content, and online reputation management).
  • Advanced knowledge with MS Office, WordPress and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills. (English and Arabic).
  • Require strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)

Essential:

  • University degree in social sciences, communications or similar background.
  • A minimum of 2-year experience in an NGO or private company with grants or communications or similar work.
  • Computer/word processing and standard office software skills.
  • Fluent in English (Speaking and Writing).
  • Turkish Nationality is required.

Desirable:

  • Advanced degree in social sciences, communications or similar background.
  • 4-year experience in an NGO or private company with grants or communications or similar work.
