Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Preferred graduate with bachelors in logistics/supply chain management or bachelors in engineering/ business management relevant experience considered.
General Work Experience:
5+ years of experiences in logistics, procurement and/or distribution and supply chain management. Able to organize the storage and distribution of goods ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. Also have good experience of the whole supply chain from transportation to stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods. Good experience in staff management required. Experience working in an NGO/non-profit context with exposure to relevant logistics paperwork and cycles preferred but not essential.
Skills :
- Languages: Arabic/ English Good in (writing –reading –speaking ) other language will be desired especially Turkish
- Computing:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including, excel, word, outlook etc.
- Warehouse management/supply chain systems (desired)
- Communication: Strong communicator, negotiating, facilitating and presenting

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate is field-level strategic plan formulation in the area of logistics and procurement. Participate in programs planning and advising on logistics and procurement considerations.
- Provide technical and operational support to the field office, as well as advice on application of logistics management best practice, systems and procedures. Take initiative in management improvement for the logistic function.
- Lead the policy update process when necessary; determine the need, study and proceed it. Make the policies stronger and ensure that they are implemented in a pure way.
- Establish good relations with donors and partners in terms of daily communication, reporting and field implementation.
- Assess existing logistics operations systems and advise on corrective measures to be undertaken.
- Ensure the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of new initiatives and procedures related to logistics
- Design, implement and manage contracts in procurement, forwarding, transport and warehousing, where necessary.
- Represent organization interests within interagency logistics activities.
- Manage a local emergency stockpile and goods consolidation points in order to permit the rapid movement of humanitarian supplies.
- Design and implement warehouse management and commodity tracking system.
- Review the logistics component of field office budget proposals for consideration during budget review.
- Conduct special management reviews and/or follow-up on audit observations to assist in the improvement of office procedures and practices related to logistics.
- Develop key performance indicators by which localized logistics contracts can be managed.
- Ensure timely transmission of logistics monitoring information, stock levels and distribution status to the destination points at the Syrian territories.
- Ensure that other staff in the logistics team are aware of their tasks
- To evaluate cost breakdown and value apportionments prepared by logistic officers and assist them when necessary
