Purpose of the Role:
Ensure the smooth implementation of projects, including guidance and support of the team, ensuring proper coordination with all sectors and regulatory functions. attendance, coordination, and reporting to the clusters; contribution in proposal and concept note writing, and budget development.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Proposal writing, project planning, and management.
- Identifying gaps in the management of projects and supporting the field team in addressing these gaps.
- Preparing field reports for projects and assisting in editing.
- Close support to Project field Coordinator(s).
- Advisory support for the project includes guidance on project start-up, compliance reporting, and documentation requirements, and grant life cycle management.
- Provide close coordination between the main office in Turkey and support offices and colleagues inside Syria.
- To attend cluster coordination meetings, and providing regular reports to the Line Manager about these meetings.
- Support the finance department by coordinating project budget and coordination with other departments within the organization.
- Preparing projects and submit reports such as progress reports and final reports, etc. to donors. Also, preparing related documents/reports (work plan, projects budget).
- Ensure that all project activities comply with donor regulations and humanitarian standards.
- Coordination and collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation Department, follow up Monitoring and Evaluation reports, recommend and implement changes to enhance the projects, as appropriate.
- Maintain effective communication and relation with donors and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & requirements:
- Relevant University degree, or equivalent experience; At least 3 years’ of total experience in humanitarian or development programs in the Syrian context.
- Ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to give effective feedback and to guide and mentor direct reports.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent writing skills in English and demonstrated the ability to write and edit reports and proposals under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of the humanitarian and development sectors, and experience with and knowledge of humanitarian standards.
- Proven skills in leading, reporting, analyzing, and problem-solving.
Language Preference:
- Written and Verbal in English.
- Arabic is an advantage.
