Duration: 5 months

Purpose of the Role:

Ensure the smooth implementation of projects, including guidance and support of the team, ensuring proper coordination with all sectors and regulatory functions. attendance, coordination, and reporting to the clusters; contribution in proposal and concept note writing, and budget development.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  1. Proposal writing, project planning, and management.
  2. Identifying gaps in the management of projects and supporting the field team in addressing these gaps.
  3. Preparing field reports for projects and assisting in editing.
  4. Close support to Project field Coordinator(s).
  5. Advisory support for the project includes guidance on project start-up, compliance reporting, and documentation requirements, and grant life cycle management.
  6. Provide close coordination between the main office in Turkey and support offices and colleagues inside Syria.
  7. To attend cluster coordination meetings, and providing regular reports to the Line Manager about these meetings.
  8. Support the finance department by coordinating project budget and coordination with other departments within the organization.
  9. Preparing projects and submit reports such as progress reports and final reports, etc. to donors. Also, preparing related documents/reports (work plan, projects budget).
  10. Ensure that all project activities comply with donor regulations and humanitarian standards.
  11. Coordination and collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation Department, follow up Monitoring and Evaluation reports, recommend and implement changes to enhance the projects, as appropriate.
  12. Maintain effective communication and relation with donors and other stakeholders.

Qualifications & requirements:

  • Relevant University degree, or equivalent experience; At least 3 years’ of total experience in humanitarian or development programs in the Syrian context.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to give effective feedback and to guide and mentor direct reports.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent writing skills in English and demonstrated the ability to write and edit reports and proposals under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian and development sectors, and experience with and knowledge of humanitarian standards.
  • Proven skills in leading, reporting, analyzing, and problem-solving.

Language Preference:

  • Written and Verbal in English.
  • Arabic is an advantage.
