Partnership and Resource Mobilization Coordinator

** Al Sharq Forum is an independent, international non-profit organization that aims at consolidating the values of pluralism and justice, while developing long-term strategies and programmes that contribute to the political development, economic prosperity, and social cohesion for the people of the Al Sharq region and the world.

ASF is looking for a Partnership and Resource Mobilization Coordinator, based in Istanbul/Turkey to create and maintain strategic partnerships, develop the partnerships and resource mobilization strategy, increase ASF’s visibility with potential donors/partners and ensure sustainable partnerships and funding for the organization.

General Responsibilities:

  • Map the youth/institutional funding context within which the organization operates, including potential donors, sponsors and partners, available funding, and ongoing funding opportunities.

  • Identify opportunities for partnering with donors, European Commission, international NGOs, national NGO and other organizations.

  • Reach out to potential donors and partners, network with them and build proactive relationships.

  • Communicate ASF mandate, objectives, strategic plans, policies, programs and resources requirements with donors and partners.

  • Monitor new call for proposals, review the published ones, identify ASF eligibility and coordinate the submission process ensuring applying best practices to submit winning proposals.

  • Manage the development and preparation of expressions of interest, concept notes, projects proposals and other related documents.

  • Present the organization’s projects and funding proposals to targeted donors and partners.

  • Serve as the liaison focal point with external organizations on resource mobilization and partnership matters.

  • Work closely with the forum’s departments to identify funding gaps and prioritize institutional funding needs.

  • Work closely with the communications team to produce and promote promotional materials to be presented to donors and other stakeholders during meetings or relationship building.

  • Develop and prepare partnership and donors/partners relationship related reports.

  • Continuously improve on the partnership methodology and policy through feedback, and update existing internal databases accordingly.

  • Follow-up on the execution of the partnership and funding plans in coordination with all related internal and external stakeholders to ensure funding sustainability.

  • Maintain, update and refresh insights on priority relationships and key partner stakeholders to ensure sustainability.

  • Maintain and develop the organization's external database.

  • Assist in building the team’s proposal development and report writing capacities.

  • Identify other resource mobilization opportunities including but not limited to the private sector.

  • Identify best practices and lessons learned directly linked to resource mobilization and partnership-building activities to continuously improve resource mobilization and partnership-building practices and ensure sustainable funding.

  • Support the direct manager with donors/partners relations and other related/concerned stakeholders.

  • Advise and assist the program and regional coordinators of the youth network on matters related to partnerships.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

Essential:

  • BA in Business Administration, Marketing, Mass Communications or International Relations or related field.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a position related to fundraising, partnership management, resource mobilization, development and management.

  • Advanced oral and writing skills in the English language.

  • Ability to travel to MENA and EU countries without restrictions.

Desirable:

  • Proven experience in managing successful grant applications: from proposal development to securing funds, and implementing projects.

  • General proven experience in grant management with multiple donors in development or humanitarian context (youth related preferred).

  • Experience in non-profit youth organizations is an advantage. Experience of working in an international context.

  • Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Residency permit in Turkey (Possession of Turkish Nationality is preferred) **
