Bahar Organization is an independent non-profit and non-governmental organization that provides humanitarian aids to vulnerable people without any discrimination in all its forms. BO is operating to response for the needs and basic requirement of the humanitarian crisis in Syria in the middle of the affected communities caused by the conflict the basic principles of BO’s activities are to enhance the basic life standards to the affected population by delivering the humanitarian aid based on the needs.
Position Overview: Grants Coordinator identifies potential grants from government agencies, foundations, and corporations to increase the financial and operational growth of the organization. He/ she is mandated to support donors’ relations and proposals development process as well as leading organizational capacity assessment and follow up on resulting findings and recommendations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perusing grant acquisition and donors’ requirement as well leading process of proposal development.
- Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.
- Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities.
- Ensure that grants are implemented according to the operational and financial needs of the organization
- Supervise the fund-raising process to ensure proper coordination of work.
- Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities.
- Analyze the budget trends and make recommendations for cost control and reduction for various grants.
- Provide detailed reports to the donors and the board of directors with respect to the organization's progress.
- Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, Humanitarian Action, Disaster Management, or another relevant field. Master’s degree is a desirable.
- Minimum of two years relevant working experience in (senior) program/ partnership or grants coordination in humanitarian aid/ international development.
- Proven track record in identifying, creating and capitalizing on institutional funding opportunities;
- Demonstrated experience in representing a non-profit organization and building personal and professional networks at a senior level;
- Good understanding of program, financial and operational management processes;
- Good understanding of key trends in international and humanitarian development;
- Experience building, leading and developing a growing team of staff with different backgrounds and expertise, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, span-of-control and performance;
- Extensive experience working in an international and cross-cultural context;
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written (including negotiation and presentation skills);
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, interpersonal and cross-cultural sensitivity;
- Settled character with ability to cope with stressful, delicate and possibly dangerous situations;
- Fluent in English;
