Main Purpose:
He/She has the overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of a project.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure that project activities and outputs are implemented in a timely manner.
- To technically mentor and supervisethe education staff working under his supervision as well as carry out staff performance evaluation.
- To improve the work mechanisms that help in measuring the project indicators to achieve the project’s goals efficiently and effectively.
- To monitor the impact of the project, support decision making and promote learning through documentation of best practices and follow up of necessary adjustment (Change management).
- To coordinate the Education activities and related activities belong to protection and WASH under the project, based on proposals, budgets and plans.
- To break down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans.
- To ensure that procurement, development, and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures.
- To supervise the designing and implementation of non-formal programs, and ensuring that these programs achieve the proposed results.
- To prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required for the project implementation.
- To ensure that high-quality reports are submitted in a timely manner and work closely with the team members to ensure reports meet donor requirements.
- To report the security situation in the targeted areas and setting up the necessary measures.
- To ensure the proper implementation of the project according to the operational Plan and M&E Plan.
- To assist the Programme coordinator in the identification of new projects and new areas of intervention.
- To coordinate with all the related stakeholders.
Note: the above mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.
Qualification:
Essential:
- Bachelor degree in specializations related to education, Projects Management, Business Administration, or any related field.
- 4 years at least of work experience in implementing education projects in the Syrian context
- Great experience and knowledge in education in an emergency (EiE), and minimum standards (INEE) fields.
- Experience of project management/coordination in establishing and managing Education projects, including organizing the education activities, monitoring, evaluation, administration, finance, and logistics, in complex and challenging environments.
- Fluency in the English Language (4 skills: Listening – Speaking – Reading – Writing).
- Fluency in the Arabic Language (4 skills: Listening – Speaking – Reading – Writing).
- Professional skills in writing proposals, especially in education in the emergency field
- Full knowledge of preparing procurement plans, BoQs, PRs, and other templates related to the projects.
- High level in Documentation process for all activities.
- Archiving skills on online platforms to make sure all documents are stored.
- Very good reporting skills.
- High level of understanding of project logical framework (outcome – output – indicators) and reflect them on the implementation accordingly.
- Very good knowledge of budgeting.
- Good knowledge of the tools used for tracking the project budget.
- Aware of using GMS and other donors' platforms.
Desirable:
- Master degree in specializations related to education, Projects Management, Business Administration, or any related field.
- 6 years at least of work experience in implementing education projects in the Syrian context
- PMP Certified
- Good Command of the Turkish Language (4 skills: Listening – Speaking – Reading – Writing).
