Al Ameen, short for Al-Ameen for Humanitarian Support is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working throughout Syria and the border regions. Al-Ameen registered in Turkey in 2015 and currently works in four sectors, including Education, Medical, WASH, and Food Security and Livelihoods. Al-Ameen has not only focused on managing development projects, but also adds an advocacy component to empower Syrian civil society and local governance to all its projects. We expect our staff at Al-Ameen to be proactive, hard workers and team players.
Description of Position
The Logistics Officer (LO) is responsible for managing the logistical operations of Al-Ameen including the following;
· The LO is in charge of setting up, closing, and regular running of a base for a project. This includes procurement, logistics, and management of warehouse staff, drivers, and guards;
· The LO will coordinate with administration, Human resources, and Program Staff, to assist with requests;
· The LO ensures that the respective donor regulations are being followed closely concerning in country regulations, procurement, and anything concerning organizational assets;
· The LO is in charge of managing proper set-up, rehabilitation, a day to day running of office;
· The LO is responsible for planning, procuring, transporting, and storing all equipment relevant to the organization;
· The LO will manage all cross-borders operations, insuring proper documentation is available and staff has all necessities
Qualifications
The potential LO must meet the following qualifications;
· Either a Bachelors of Arts or Science degree; an Advanced Degree is desired.
· At least two years of experience in Logistics with an NGO; remote management experience is desired
· Excellent knowledge of Syria and bordering countries
· Strong Arabic and English Skills; Turkish is highly desired
Strong organization and management skills.
