Expert for Logistics (m/f)
in Turkey
The post is to be filled as soon as possible, initially for 12 months. The office is located in Mardin, Turkey.
Objectives and responsibilities of the position
As Expert for Logistics, you are responsible for organising and implementing procurement and warehouse activities at the Mardin location within the specified organisational, scheduling, contractual and financial guidelines.
Your most important duties are as follows:
- Ensure orderly material resources planning in coordination with the project managers at the locations and the project administrators
- Designing and implementing the Mardin Logistics Office set-up (office, equipment, transport, HR)
Management of ongoing contracts for schools rehabilitation, school transport services etc.
Establishment and supervision of warehouse management of relief items and other materials (incoming/outgoing, regular stock-taking, fresh supplies)
Coordination and reporting to Logistics Director in Gaziantep
Transport management
Support and advise national staff with regard to logistics issues
Your qualifications will include:
A university or polytechnic degree in development cooperation/humanitarian aid/focus on logistics, or qualifications that are commensurate with this position
Minimum 5 years of project and coordination experience in carrying out emergency aid and development projects of international (aid) agencies - preferably in the region
Strong IT-skills
Coordination and organisational skills - even under a high workload
A very good command of English; Turkish and/or Arabic are advantageous
A good regional knowledge
Willingness to travel in the region
