Thereby, we particularly focus on the Syrian and other societies in the Middle East and Arab region, as well as on host communities and the diaspora in countries further afield.

As a Syrian civil society-focused diaspora organization with profound experience in the humanitarian and development field, we believe that supporting local communities’ capacity development and resilience is the key to unlock their potential to drive broad-based inclusive and society-led change. In a region as hugely affected by crises, social unrest, and instability as the Middle East at present, we are furthermore convinced that it is this local capacity and resilience, paired with stimulating collaboration and developing networks of mutual support, that will ultimately support restoring stability and fostering social cohesion among civil society in the region and beyond.

Responsibilities:

MIDMAR is seeking qualified organizations and/or individuals to create engaging learning activities and compiling course content to improve MIDMAR’s current e-platforms with tools, plans, and best practices in instructional design principles. The service provider in this service should have an excellent understanding of how to create a learning event, and how to ensure it will be high quality, outcome-driven, and engaging. Further specifics are outlined below.

Instructional designer needs to possess a versatile skill set in order to create effective learning courses and materials to meet his intended goals. this professional not only need to have a mastery of learning design but technology as well, given that they:

  1. Evaluate new eLearning materials using the phases of the ADDIE Model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation), however other models proposed by instructional designer are considered.

  2. Define the required elements for a training outline.

  3. Select appropriate learning methods based on the identified learning objectives.

  4. Develop basic course materials that demonstrate the effective use of text and graphics.

  5. Develop tasks and knowledge content.

  6. Create engaging learning activities and compiling course content.

  7. Work with subject matter experts (or instructors) to identify target audience’s training needs.

  8. Create educational podcasts, videos, and content.

  9. Implement feedback from program reviews.

  10. Train others on how to deliver learning material.

  11. Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.

  12. Explain the requirements to ensure a quality learning program.

  13. Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.

  14. Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games, etc.)

  15. Design modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course.

  16. Maintain project documentation and course folders.

  17. Install all courses material on the LMS e-platform.

Education:

  • University degree in instructional design, educational technology, or similar relevant field (Preferable).

Technical Skills and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
  • Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge.
  • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts.
  • The services (Courses) and the deliverables will be in ARABIC.
