About SENED
SENED is an independent non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with the number 27-15-175. SENED was established by a group of humanitarian and social activists in responding to the Syrians suffer since 2011. SENED has become specialized in working with and supporting people with special needs since 2015 due to the realization of the tremendous tragedy that people with special needs live in Syria through periodic visits to their places.
Job Purpose
Based in Gaziantep, the Program Officer is under the line management of the Senior Project Officer.
· He/She will be responsible for:
To assist in the implementation of all assigned protection projects in Syria and ensure their execution within time, budget and quality.
Key Activities/Tasks/Duties
o Participate as required in project kick-off, close-out and review meetings. Ensure documentation and follow up of action points in a timely manner.
o Follow-up on the implementation of projects and activities on a daily manner. This includes directing activities, avoiding mistakes, and receiving and submitting projects reports.
o Prepare, develop and review the reports to be submitted to donors. These could include daily, weekly, quarterly, progress and final reports.
o Attend meetings related to protection when required.
o Ensure – through clear weekly and monthly work plans – protection monitoring, field assessments, community-based activities, especially life-skills, socio-recreational and awareness raising activities, are carried out in a timely, effective and technically sound manner.
o Communicate and coordinate with the field team and center management in Syria and follow up the implementation of activities with them.
o Prepare weekly implementation work plans and follow up the implementation with the field team.
o Follow up the implementation of activities.
o Raising the required PRs and set the procurement plan.
o Manage the manager of the organization’s center in Syria.
· Prepare, plan and supervise the center’s activities.
· Receive periodic reports from the manager of the center, review and send them to the project manager.
o Follow up on the project agreement conditions.
o Be fully responsible for meeting donor targets and compliance requirements through activities, means of undertaking activities, and in all other documentations.
o Ensure, with the finance department, that activities and expenses are regularly monitored and, as needed, action plans with follow-up are developed to correct any over- or underspending in a timely manner.
o Manage the project team members. case workers and life skills facilitators team.
· Meet with case workers and life skills facilitators to follow up with them regarding project activities, sessions and/or any project modifications.
· Evaluate the team members performance and provide necessary coaching to them.
Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities /accountability may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.
Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):
A. Essential:
§ Bachelor Degree in Psychology, , Business Administration or any other similar field.
§ Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar position.
§ Advanced skills in the Arabic language.
§ Advanced skills in the English language.
§ Turkish Nationality.
§ Priority will be for people with disabilities are their relatives.
B. Desirable
§ Certified PMD Pro1.
§ Intermediate skills in the Turkish language.
§ Verified experience in humanitarian work and principles.
§ Verified experience in dealing with donor’s policies, procedures, requirements and compliance.
C. IT and Equipment
§ Good proficiency with Microsoft package.
