Turkey: Warehouse Officer

To facilitate the reception, handling, storing, dispatching, transportation and record keeping of all items which arrive in and are dispatched from the warehouse according to IMC regulations and keeps the warehouse facilities in excellent shape.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

· Be responsible for the correct and safe storage of all items in the WH and on its premises according to IMC regulations, including but not limited to separation of consumables vs. donations vs. assets vs. contingency stocks

· Ensure the correct tracking and documentation of items in the WH and of the in-/outflow of items from/ to the WH according to IMC procedures and regulations

· Be accountable for any item which went through the WH and ensure that all documents have the authorization signatures necessary

· Maintain WH ledger, GIK ledger, and distribution reports and share them with all necessary IMC staff

· Ensure the correct tracking and documentation of all assets in or passing through the WH according to IMC procedures and regulations and in close liaison with IMC’s other Asset FPs

· Organize the transportation and correct documentation of all items leaving the WH, including but not limited to ensuring the quantity loaded reflects the quantity on the GIO as well as the waybill

· Ensure stock discrepancies / damages are documented, investigated and reported to Program Heads and Logistics Manager

· At supervisor’s discretion and in close liaison with Kilis Logistics Officer, organize cross-border shipments, including but not limited to obtaining all necessary approvals

· Keep close communication with the responsible person in any respective sending/ receiving location and ensure a timely communication before a shipment is dispatched

· Delegates those tasks as deemed necessary and in line with his/her job description to the staff under positions supervision in a reasonable and ethical manner

· Identify staffing gaps and training needs and communicates those to the supervisor

· Ensure that supervised staff as well as any other person in the WH is not exposed to safety hazards and is provided the correct safety equipment to conduct hazardous tasks

· Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

· Other duties as required and deemed appropriate by supervisor

Knowledge and Experience:

· In possession of Turkish ID or residence permit and valid passport (or similar recognized ID)

· Valid truck license and fork lift license is a plus

· Excellent planning capabilities and excellent ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas and systems

· Ability to multitask, think creatively and work with little supervision in an often stressful environment

· Very good reporting skills in oral and written form including the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas and concepts

· Ability to establish harmonious working relations in an international and multicultural environment

· Experience in WH keeping and general logistics operations

· Experience in supervising a team

· Experience in an NGO setting is a plus

· Language: Fluent In English and Turkish; Arabic is a plus

· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office®, especially MS Excel® and MS Word®
