Proposal and Reports Writing Trainer

General Description of the Organization:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of conflict-affected populations.

Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering humanitarian and development programs, Livelihood, Education, and Protection, to enable them to improve their living practices and their sustainability mechanisms.
Orange also collaborates with national and international non-governmental organizations, local initiatives responding to the humanitarian Syrian crisis with capacity development programs, to be better equipped with the skills they need to prepare and respond to affected population’s needs and to ensure that these communities where we work in are ready for any future disasters.

1. SCOPE OF WORK

The assignment is to impart (six days training in total) three days training on each of proposal and Reports Writing staff who will further utilize the skills learned. The scope of the training program will not be limited to Reports Writing only, but we will also ensure that participants understand how to draft, review, and submit high-quality reports.

- The training is aimed to achieve the following objectives:

To ensure that learnings are linked with Orange initiatives in Turkey

To build and increase the capacity of the selected participants in the proposal and Reports Writing**

The different types of reports for project management,

How to prepare the project report and proposal outlines.

How to write quality content.

How to prepare a report template.

The language of the report.**

The aim of the proposal writing.**

How to write an effective proposal to different donors.**

- METHODOLOGY:

Deliver using a blended learning approach and might comprises of presentations, interactive sessions of practical exercise and group works.

Practical sessions using case project(s), individual or group exercises will be given to participants after each session to make sure that they can apply what they have learnt into practice immediately.

Participatory training methods such as brainstorming, simulation, group discussion and case analysis.

- KEY DELIVERABLES:

Following deliverables are expected from the training provider:

  • Trainer will prepare agenda/contents/sessions of the training and submit these at least one week before start of the training.

  • Trainer shall conduct pre-test from all participants of the training.

  • Trainer will also share complete package of training material that may be provided to the participants.

  • Trainer will facilitate preparation of training follow up and action plan

  • After the completion of the training, the trainer will share comprehensive training report on the agreed format within 10 days after the completion of the training.

- LOCATION:

The location will be in Turkey, remotely vıa MS teams or Zoom Platform

- TIMEFRAME

This is a short-term assignment for individual consultants. Tentatively this assignment will be in September 2021 (dates shall be confirmed).

- DUITES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The trainer/consultant/resource person will:

  • Sign with Orange a consultancy agreement and work as a resource person for the three days training event.

  • Discuss and agree with Orange on the final training package, content, and deliverables.

  • Design an appropriate process of the training leading to the desired results.

  • Propose the most appropriate training methodology for effective delivery of the assignment.

  • Device the tools required for each session of the training.

  • Satisfactorily facilitate the training sessions and ensuring the active engagement of all the participants.

  • Share relevant training materials and provide any resource materials for further reading and reference by Orange staff.

  • Design a questionnaire for pre and post-test (to be used before and after the workshop) for workshops to gauge the level of understanding of the participants about the topics discussed in the training workshop.

  • Compile and submit quality training report (one soft copy)

- SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

The resource person/consultant should possess the following qualifications and expertise:

  • Proven experience in conducting training on participatory monitoring and evaluation for NGOs/CBOs.

-. Advanced university degree in social sciences/development science.

  • Proven experience of working with INGOs for conducting writing and reporting training

  • Strong communication, analytical, and drafting skills

  • Fluency in English is mandatory – Turkish is desired.

2. TECHINCAL PROPOSAL:

The technical proposal should include but not limited to the following information:

  • A brief outline of recent experience and client references in carrying out assignments of similar nature (Max. 1 page)

  • Detailed description of how the consultant/firms understand and will respond to the ToR, including time frame and number of persons involved in and comments on the ToR (Max 2 pages)

  • Curriculum Vitae of trainer
