Introduction and Purpose:
Strategy Lead (SL) for Digital Space for Civic Space (DSCS project).
We are currently looking for a Strategy Lead (SL) to project lead the implementation of an EU funded programme in Turkey. In line with its strategic vision to expand its humanitarian and development needs of Syrian refugees, women and children in particular, in Turkey, Olive Branch in consortium with a European and a Turkey based organisations has yet another EU funded programme in Turkey with the objective to support and empower Civil Society in protection and promotion of refugees’ rights and opening of their civic space. This two-year project, starting early 2022 and titled ‘Digital Space for Civic Space’, will be realised through three outputs – Comprehensive Digital Data on civic space and human rights, Trained CS Organisations (capacity building) and Advocacy Campaigns.
What are your responsibilities?
Responsible for the local coordination and implementation of essential activities of the Action.
You will work closely with Olive Branch’s project team members and coordinate with 2 consortium partners on the project.
You will oversee key areas of work that are of an overarching and strategic nature in the delivery of the project in the form 3 components (outputs) – 1) Digital data collection by setting up conversations on DSCS topics on the CS and U panel digital platform, 2) Capacity building of CSs, and 3) Advocacy campaigns.
Supported by Human Rights Expert, you will preside and steer 2 DSCS-task forces – Civic Space and State of Limbo – in the output of Advocacy campaigns.
You will have the organisational lead in Capacity Building (output 2).
You will be part of the Project Management Unit (PMU) led Project Manager of our European consortium partner in Belguim.
You will suggest and make recommendations/changes to the project plan during the inception phase of the project.
You will contribute to devising the detailed implementation plan with other consortium partners.
You will assess and analyse risks to the project in coordination with other partners.
Together with Project Assistant, you will work closely with M&E officer, Financial Officer and Logistics officer of Olive Branch for effective management of the project.
You will work closely with Advocacy Officer and Human Rights Expert of Olive Branch for effective delivery of the project outputs.
You will report to Olive Branch’s higher management at organisation level.
You will report to Project Manager of PMU at technical level.
Who are you?
You will have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in leading humanitarian projects with at least 2 years in Human Rights related programmes.
You spend time and attention on your personal development.
You work together organization-wide and ensure that everyone is involved and actively cooperates.
You flexibly adapt your behaviour and perspective to the objectives you need to achieve.
You bear responsibility for your own actions and motivate others to do the same.
You are aware of relevant social, political and professional developments and trends and can use this knowledge within Olive Branch.
You can make ideas and opinions clear to others in understandable language, both in writing and orally.
You can work fluently in English and Arabic and knowledge of Turkish is an asset.
