General Description of the Organization:
Emissa is a humanitarian organization, founded and established in the Syrian city of Homs The organization was founded in 2012, when a Syrian grassroots group of volunteers from different ethnic and educational backgrounds came together to support their fellow citizens, suffering from the escalating Syrian crisis.
We are a team, unified by a common belief in human dignity, peace, and sustainable development. The objective from the beginning was, and is up to the present day, to support civilians in war and crisis, in particular the most vulnerable, to relieve their suffering and strengthen their resilience to help them overcome the crisis.
Project Overview:
The project’s aim is to link community members and potential employers in order to create labor market integration through paid apprenticeship opportunities over a period of four months. The apprentices will thereby obtain tailored technical employability skills that eventually end with their ability to obtain paid employment. The project’s full duration is 11 months.
General Job Description:
Based in Turkey, the ERL Project manager will be responsible for all the project’s components. He/she will dedicate all of his/her time to the project and will follow the implementation of the planned ERL activities. The ERL Project Manager will be fully responsible for the technical, narrative reporting to the donor/partner. The monthly Salary amount will be considered as gross salary including expenses such as social security and income tax, in line with the host country's labor laws and regulations.
Job duties:
· Provide overall direction to the project in order to achieve the project outputs and objectives
· Ensure proper implementation of the project and provide guidance to field team
· Monitor and analyze the environment and advise on timely readjustments of strategies and activities
· Prepare, follow up and track work plans for the project
· Assess the capacities of possible stakeholders and propose their integration with the project’s activities.
· Ensure the fulfillment of monitoring and evaluation requirements for the project;
· Ensure compliance with administrative, financial, and logistical procedures in all activities related to the project.
· Review weekly project reports and prepare the full technical report on a monthly basis.
· Attend cluster and working groups’ meetings actively in addition to presenting the organization’s project with presentations.
· Report project activities using GMS / 4Ws / and Progress Templates.
· Proven experience in livelihoods projects
· Previous experience and technical knowledge of vocational training and on-job training activities.
· Proven and strong experience in “CASH VOUCHER ASSISTANCE” Management
Requirements:
· Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a related field.
· At least 5 years of professional work experience in the implementation of humanitarian/development projects; preferably with 1-2 years of experiences managing similar projects.
· Previous experience with implementing projects funded by UN-Agencies / OCHA-HF
· Knowledge of current development policies and activities,
· Ability to organize work and collaborate effectively,
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and representational skills,
· Professional report-writing skills,
· Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic are required to fulfill the position’s requirements,
· Official legal authorization for this position is mandatory.
· Duty station in Gaziantep – Turkey.
