Turkey: Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Technical Advisor -

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES OF THE EXPATRIATE:
Under the management of the HoM, and with the technical supervision and support of the HQ Specific Needs TA, he/she will be in charge of:
-designing and setting-up HI MHPSS intervention (of different levels of intervention and in the different areas of intervention)
-supporting all HI teams on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support aspects as well as on Protection related issues
-guaranting the technical quality of all MHPSS interventions
-being a leader in MHPSS inter-actors coordination, in close cooperation with the Program manager, Head of Mission and HQ Technical Advisor
-facilitating sharing of experience, tools, researches, capitalization / lesson learnt within HI teams and within MHPSS stakeholders in Turkey
-reporting on the above activities
MAIN TASKS:
-participates actively in the elaboration of the strategy of intervention in particular on the MHPSS technical inputs in link with other sectors
-supports the design and implementation of all the MHPSS interventions (as a stand-alone community and centre-based interventions, as an integrated part of the rehabilitation intervention and within the MHPSS coordination activities in Turkey) without managing the activities / field teams
-supports the elaboration and facilitation of the training of key technical staff to be implemented by Field TAs
-supports and coordinates the mapping all the resources that could be useful to respond to MHPSS needs both at different levels (community, primary, secondary and tertiary level) and in different areas
-contributes to set-up and implementation of the technical monitoring tools of the project’s activities for MHPSS components
-provides recommendations, suggests adjustments or development of the project with a specific attention to community’s resilience mechanisms
-regularly monitors psychosocial needs of targeted population / groups and ensure technical appropriateness of the response
-is the responsible for the overall quality of the intervention

PROFIL ATTENDU :

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCES
 -Formal Degree in Psychology (Master Degree of Psychology or at least Bachelor Degree of Psychology with strong proven knowledge and experience in providing technical support to MHPSS programs in emergency contexts and complementary degree in Sociology / Social Work)
 -4 years of Professional experience in the related field (provision of MHPSS services of different levels and MHPSS community-based approaches)
 -Proven experience in providing technical support to field teams implementing
 -Experience in NGO in emergency context
SKILLS
-Demonstrate good understanding of psychosocial issues in the country / culture of deployment
 -Understanding of a comprehensive approach of vulnerability and disabilities issues and their interactions with psychosocial consequences
 -Good report writing skills
 -Demonstrated effective communication, analytical and problem solving skills
 -Ability to relate to the target group (be approachable, shows empathy)
 -Ability to propose workable solutions and identify their implications (positive and negative) adapted to the psychosocial needs of patients and his family

 -Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
 -Ability to work in a multicultural environment and in a multidisciplinary teamwork
 -Ability to work under high pressure with a great level of personal organisation
 -Diplomacy sense

REQUIRED LANGUAGES
-English mandatory (oral and written), Arabic would be an asset
