Position Summary: The Teacher Coordinator is responsible for coordinating teachers who will provide informal education and remedial education for refugee children.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
· Recruit and train teachers for informal education and remedial education for refugee children and youths.
· Assist with lesson plan development based on the selected curriculum and assist with coordinating classes in different subjects.
· Plan, design and implement interactive teaching and learning strategies designed to enhance learning, improve the overall well-being of students and encourage a sense of normalcy for vulnerable refugee children.
· Ensure equal access for girls and boys through intensive community outreach, arranging separate classes for girls and boys and providing other gender-based considerations as deemed necessary.
· Manage scheduling, attendance, performance and payment of teachers in coordination with RI program management team.
· Provide support through guidance and advice for teachers as needed.
· Work in close collaboration with other Coordinators.
· Ensure coordination with other education services provided in Gaziantep is upheld.
· Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
· This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
· BA or BS in, education, or related field.
· At least three years of experience in education or management related position.
· Solid background and knowledge of UN Rules and Regulations;
· Willingness to travel and work extensively – sometimes at short notice, in difficult places and under long hours – according to a results-based approach Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and strategic planning skills required;
· Fluency in Arabic and English; Turkish is a plus;
· Strong English writing skills required;
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, tasks efficiently;
· Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail
· Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Ability to think critically and creatively;
· Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.
· Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
· Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
