MEAL Assistant Job Purpose:
The MEAL assistant supports the MEAL department with administrative task and data management including: develop data entry sheets and other tools/templates for effective data collection, cleaning and analysis. Additionally the position provides support in other tasks related to monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning across all sectors: health, WASH, NFI, rehabilitation and protection.
MEAL Assistant Job Duties:
Data Entry & Management
Perform data entry and data cleaning for surveys, assessments, evaluations, etc.
With support from MEAL Officer, perform basic data analysis
Maintain proper record of raw data from assessment and surveys
Consistently strive to improve data quality across programs and sectors, including by making visits to field sites to monitor data entry, support registrars, and identify gaps in data flow
Support program teams to complete timely and accurate weekly reports as needed
MEAL Administrative Support:
Assist MEAL department in various administrative tasks
Support with logistical tasks associated with trainings and other workshops
Support in translation during trainings/meetings/workshops
Assist with translation of documents, reports, data collection tools including surveys, assessment and monitoring checklist
Assistance to MEAL system development:
Assist in development of databases for all programs by using available technologies.
Support M&E activities involving FAs, such as physical verification of assets, post distribution monitoring, data quality audits, surveys/assessments, etc.
Complete data entry, data cleaning and data analysis as needed for surveys, assessments, and other collected data.
Information management and accountability:
Debrief with FAs on regular basis according to debriefing guide and support compilation of feedback received from field assistants
Communicate with FAs on daily/weekly basis as needed regarding activities, security, location, information updates
Support in Integrate feedback from FAs into accountability mechanisms across sectors
Miscellaneous:
Support other needs of the MEAL department as they arise
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.
Personnel Qualifications (Special training/experience required):
Bachelor’s degree in sociology, economics, business administration, or other related field
Fluency in written and spoken English, Arabic and Turkish. In addition to ability to translate as the following directions: (English to Arabic, Arabic to English, English to Turkish, Turkish to English, Arabic to Turkish, and Turkish to Arabic).
High proficiency in MS Office required; experience with data analysis software is desirable
Experience in data collection/analysis via quantitative and qualitative methods preferred
Database management experience preferred
Experience working with NGOs preferred
Good communication and report writing skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural setting
Adherence to IMC Code of Conduct and internationally accepted humanitarian principles is required Eligible to work in Turkey (having valid residency)
