ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/SCOPE OF WORK

The consultant will be responsible for conducting IYCF Counselling Training for new Nutrition field staff. Besides SMART training will be given as needed. Provide recommendations for setting up and/or improving the nutrition program with the Nutrition Manager including training, nutrition screening activities, developing referral pathways, monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
Essential Duties:
 Train IMC and health facility staff in IYCF counselling.
 Train IMC staff on survey methodology including rapid nutrition assessment, SMART surveys, SQUEAC surveys, causal analysis, and other assessment methods as needed.
 Train IMC and health facilities staff on MUAC screening and growth monitoring and CMAM referral as needed.
 Develop appropriate IEC material for IMC nutrition programme as needed.
 Develop and provide relevant tools for reporting and effective monitoring and evaluation at all levels for IMC nutrition programme according to minimum reporting package and donor requirements
 Provide recommendations for the establishment and strengthening of nutrition monitoring activities and train health staff (IMC, health facility staff, and other NGOs as appropriate) in case detection and referral mechanisms
 Provide recommendations to Ensure that the implementation of the nutrition programs conform to internationally accepted standards and country guidelines
Qualifications:
 University degree in Nutrition, Medicine and Healthcare Sciences.MD in Nutrition, Public Health is desirable
 At least 5 years of experience working in nutrition programs for INGOs
 Must have previous experience in nutrition consultancies
 Professional experience in Humanitarian, International context
 Working knowledge of English (proficiency/level C) and Arabic speakers preferred
 Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic, high pressure environment
 Must have the flexibility and ability to work effectively with various personalities and cultures
