Baytna Syria was launched in 2013 as a networking, training, and grant-making facility for Syrian civil society organizations, offering support to CSOs based inside Syria and the neighbouring countries.

Baytna Syria is seeking to recruit an Events Coordinator to ensure the proper implementation of events at Baytna Syria and coordinate all logistics with third parties. The Events Coordinator will also ensure the proper implementation of the creative grants.

Contract Type and Length: Long term employment

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Follow up on requests for information from media and donors, organize of media/donor visits

  2. Regularly compile and share internal information related to the operation

  3. Suggests a structured schedule of events for approval by the Senior Program Manager and maintains and updates the calendar;

  4. Ensure and coordinate the proper implementation of the creative grants program;

  5. Supports the Capacity Building Officer in handling all logistical issues of capacity building and training events taking place in Gaziantep;

  6. Handles security approvals for events with Turkish authorities in cooperation with potential co-sponsors of events;

  7. Conducts post-event evaluation (including data entry and analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders)

  8. Performs routine clerical functions as requested.

Qualifications

· At least a Bachelor’s degree in communications / journalism / business management or any other relevant field of study.

· At least 3 years of professional work experience in communication and media

· Ability to work in a team and to sometimes tight deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment

· Very good mastering of English and Arabic (both verbal and written)

· Ability to create new ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including creative contributions

· Proficient in use of computer applications related to the tasks

· Experience of working with local NGOs, INGOs and government bodies would be an advantage
