Job Purpose:
The Program Officer will support the core program team and the field offices in all the program related matters. Maintaining the records of projects, documents and important projects data and sharing with the staff and partners as and when required. S/he will be engaged in conducting need assessments, preparing situation reports, coordination meetings, taking notes and preparing project and program presentations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Working closely with the program and project teams and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and cooperative working environment
Remain updated on the situation inside Syria and Turkey regarding the IDPs and the refugees and preparing updates on thematic areas on regular basis and supporting in project proposal development process
Translate important documents from Arabic to English and vice versa
Prepare the thematic situation reports for the sectors of QC strategic priorities through utilizing the reports from different sources
Support in compiling project files, reports, updates and files maintaining all the necessary documents in an orderly manner
Ensure the field teams are fully supported administratively and logistically and reporting any gaps to the relevant departments
Support the program teams in conducting the need assessments in Syria and in Turkey through coordination with and guiding the field teams
Support in preparing projects and program presentations for thematic areas as and when required.
Coordinate with the partners regarding contracts, reports, updates and media reports as and when required
Support in other projects and programs related tasks and assignments as and when assigned.
Coordinate closely with other staff to harmonize information collection and respond to information requests.
Ensure that all the programs meetings are properly arranged, recorded and minutes are taken and shared with all the stakeholders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
At least 3-years relevant experience in project coordination and documentation
A university degree in social sciences or other related fields
Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals, humanitarian principles, SPHERE, Do No Harm, and other international standards for emergency work.
Familiarity with the approaches and strategies of the humanitarian sector and its strategic documents like 3RP, HRP, HNO.
Excellent Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point).
Written and spoken fluency in Arabic and English. Knowledge of Turkish would be an asset.
