Relief International is a registered NGO in Turkey and is based in Gaziantep to build capacities of Syrian communities to respond their needs in health and water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH).

Relief International is currently seeking an experienced Protection Officer to support its programing in Turkey and Syria. The position will focus on strengthening case management systems in RI’s disability and MHPSS programs, and protection mainstreaming across all programs. The Protection Officer will also work with the Reproductive Health Advisor to strengthen the provision of GBV health services for survivors in RI-supported health facilities.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with RI staff and partners to oversee the provision of high quality, comprehensive case management for patients with disabilities and MHPSS disorders.
  • Work with RI’s Accountability Officer to ensure protection principles are mainstreamed across RI’s Turkey and Syria programs.
  • Lead inclusion mainstreaming across RI-supported health facilities.
  • Support RI’s Reproductive Health Advisor to strengthen the provision of health services to GBV survivors.
  • Provide training and coaching for RI staff and partners on topic including protection mainstreaming and case management.
  • Represent RI at Protection Coordination mechanisms relevant to the current programming.
  • Provide technical input to proposals and reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date situational analysis of protection threats in RI’s areas of operation.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in social work, sociology, gender, human rights or development studies.
  • At least three years’ experience in the protection sector, including experience undertaking case management and protection mainstreaming. Proven experience in the MHPSS sector would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and providing training on protection topics.
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and a good team player.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic Ability to speak Turkish would be an advantage
  • Competent user of MS Office and internet.
