Hand in Hand for Syria

Hand in Hand for Syria is a non-political, non-sectarian organization founded in May 2011 to provide humanitarian relief to people inside Syria. Hand in Hand is registered in the UK with a head office in London and two offices in Turkey. With six international partners, projects cover the health, WASH, shelter, food security, NFI and education sectors and directly employ over 450 field staff inside Syria.

Reporting to: Health Program Manager

Location of the Work

Gaziantep, Turkey with occasional travel to Hatay.

Purpose of the Position:

Junior Program Officer is created as a position to provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the program. Supports both program manager and staff through a variety of tasks related to organizing and coordinating activities.

Job Responsibilities:

· Assist the Program Officer and Program Manager with program report on projects activities.

· Assist Project Officer to maintain close, monthly communication and positive working relations at all levels,

· Assist in administrative activities to ensure the smooth operation of field activities at all levels.

· Assist in compiling and/or writing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring statistics, outcomes and reports are correct,

· Assist in preparation for monthly team update meetings, participate in the preparation of project reports and other project narrative reports.

· schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for Managers

· Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Skills and Education Required

· University degree with medical background.

· Knowledge of humanitarian standards and codes, including SPHERE is preferred.

· Relevant work experience in related field.

· Previous experience working for NGOs is preferred.

· Strong communication, negotiation and problem solving skills.

· Strong Computer Skills.

· Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
