Position: Program Assistant-Health

Location: Gaziantep, Turkey

Reports to: Program Officer

Duration: 6 months minimum with possibility of extension contingent on funding

Relief International is registered NGO in Turkey and is based in Gaziantep to build capacities of Syrian communities to respond their needs in health, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and education. Relief International is currently seeking candidates to be employed as Deputy Finance Manager in Gaziantep as soon as possible.

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Program Officer, the Program Assistant will provide support in the implementation and monitoring of RI’s health projects for people inside Syria (host communities and internal displaced persons) and ensure transparency and integrity across all programs activities.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the initial assessment of new health facility projects.
  • Assist in the rapid start-up of new health facility.

· Manage all necessary admin paper work to pay incentives and running costs.

· Assist in non-medical supplies by doing all required admin paper work.

  • Assist with administrative duties such as filing, scanning, copying, and mailing.
  • Assist in the preparation and drafting of periodic program reports to Donors and RI’s HQ.
  • Assist Deputy Program Manager with special projects including travel, logistics, event preparation and research.
  • Assist in implementation of programs in line with the approved project proposal and budget.

· Assist in implementing an effective monitoring and evaluation framework for the program.

· Where appropriate, work closely with partner organizations in completing the above tasks.

· All other duties and tasks assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

· A bachelor’s degree and at least 1 years’ experience of program management assistantship/support;

· Previous NGO experience in preferably, an emergency response/conflict setting and for health programs in the Humanitarian sector;

· Fluency in English and Arabic are essential;

Strong IT skills, including MS Office Word and Excel;

· If no NGO experience, strong previous work experience in project management, or experience working in a multinational position required;

· Able to prioritize, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines;

· Able to work independently and within a team;

· Good administration skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task;

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment;

Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
