Turkey: Community health care officer

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain database of CHWs activities, areas of coverage, contact information, assessments, training topics, pre/post test results, and reports.

  • Provide daily basis support on operational part to the field management team to ensure delivering community health services as planned.

  • Receive and analyze the basic data from the community health field staff and submit preliminary reports and plans on a regular basis.

  • Remotely manage and monitor community-based surveillance system where applicable.

  • Assist in identify prevalent epidemic diseases in the community and set up appropriate strategies to be implemented in case of epidemics and other health emergencies.

  • Anticipate changing needs, challenges and emergencies to adapt proper operation actions and plans as needed.

  • Assist in coordination all operations related to community health project according to the work plan, budget and implementation strategy

  • Follow up the detailed work plans and oversee schedule of Community Health Fields Coordinator, Officer, Supervisors and Community Health Workers.

  • Support systematic delivery and development of Health and Nutrition education messages to community.

Education, Experience & Training

  • A University degree in Health Sciences or International Development.

  • At least 3 years of experience in health programs or humanitarian assistance programs.

  • Experience in project implementation and support of emergency and relief programs.

  • Previous experience with managing health and nutrition awareness programming (IYCF and Reproductive Health Counselling, Hygiene promotion) is strongly recommended

  • Skilled in, and committed to, community participation/interaction

  • Developing and writing proposals skills

  • Proven financial, logistics and procurement management skills.

  • Well-developed human resource management skills

  • Proven commitment to humanitarian and accountability principals and knowledgeable of quality assurance system.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Familiarity with the Syrian conflictual context

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Arabic native speaker and fluent in English (speaking and reporting).

  • Team player.

  • Good communications skills (written & verbal).

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to handle multi tasks at the same time.

  • Advanced Computer skills & MS office.
