Shafak was officially established in 10-10-2013 (registration no. 27-016-129). It was founded during the early months of the Syrian Crisis in 2011. At its core, Shafak is a grassroots NGO that was formed by Syrians for Syrians, with the intent of addressing the needs of their life with dignity, equality and humanity with a focus on sustainability and autonomy.
Shafak is an impartial, independent, non-profit NGO that exists for the express purpose of providing humanitarian services to vulnerable people regardless of political or religious affiliations and on the long run to contribute to recover and rebuilding the society on freedom, justice and equality basis.

Role Purpose
The purpose of the consultancy is to contribute to the increase of access to contraception, the quality of service delivery in northern Syria regarding the family planning programs.
Background:
During the period of the war in Syria, and even before but it became more and more challenging, there are areas of Syria reachable through cross-border operations from Turkey women and girls exacerbated restrictions on freedom of movement, due to security but also increasingly conservative gender norms, coupled with early marriage and lack of access to family planning, impact on their reproductive health needs, health-seeking behavior and access to health services.
In order to consolidate the family planning programme and to support proper messaging from the healthcare provider, there is a need to provide the health providers with counseling skills, counseling material as well as background information and tools.
The extension of the program reaching out the beneficiaries in the community and in the far rural areas where now facilities near to them, it is so vital to have a family planning campaign targeting these levels. Empowering health care providers conducting such activities will reflect positively and efficiently on the family planning program’s outcomes.

Key areas of accountability and responsibilities:
· Using the Family Planning Global Handbook for Providers (WHO, Johns Hopkins, USAID)
· design a package on family planning with mixed methods, including family planning promotion, myths and fears, physiological trues, skills, improved access for key populations, PAC, monitoring and supervision.
· Design the family planning campaign.
· Translation for the verified documents into Arabic to be shared and distributed to the trainees.
· Collaborate with the trainers of the proposed FP training (who will deliver the training in the field) to organize it and finalize the documents, tools, designation, implementing and monitoring of the training.
· Developing the follow up tools for the supervision.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
· Medical, midwifery or nursing degree
· 5 years of relevant experience in the field of reproductive health
· Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic
· Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications, integrated web-based management systems, spreadsheets and databases
