Role Purpose:
You will support and supervise the implementation of project activities, supporting partners, data collection, organizing evaluations and support communications activities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow-up project planning and management of implementation sector projects.
- Identify gaps in the management of projects and supporting the field team in addressing these gaps.
- Prepare field reports for projects and assisting in editing.
- Provide close support to program managers.
- Provide support to project includes guidance on project start-up, compliance reporting and documentation requirements and grant life cycle management.
- Follow up of 4W's which are provided by donors.
- Provide close coordination between main office in Turkey and support offices and colleagues inside Syria.
- Attend cluster coordination meetings, when assigned to, to ensure adequate reporting to team on outcomes, and convey recommendations and improvement areas and mechanisms to SEMA.
- Support the finance department by coordinating project budget’s as assigned by line manager and coordination with other departments within the organization, where needed.
- Conduct regular field visits to make sure all program activities are on time, being managed well and to assess any issues or challenges.
- Assist in proposals writing.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of SEMA’s quality of work.
- Promote and model a positive, professional and respectful office culture.
Any other duties assigned by line manager when required
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies:
A Bachelor degree from a recognized university with at least 2 years of experience in a similar position and duties in NGOs or INGOs
Good Knowledge in key donor reporting rules and regulations e.g. ECHO, UNFPA, DFID, UNICEF, OFDA...., will be a plus.
Good experience in project management methodologies and standards (preferably Project Management for Development certificate would be an asset),
Ability to take initiative and work without supervision.
People management skills that include diplomacy
Ability to work with diverse people, communities, and cultures, with an understanding of cultural awareness practices.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint),
Excellent communication skills
Excellent skills in English and Arabic
