Job Purpose
To working with the Communications and Programmes teams in Syria and Turkey, as well as with the Communications Syrian Forum (SF) team based in Head Office in Istanbul, to develop/produce internal and external communications and media material. keeping track of the major programme and/or humanitarian developments, providing regular highlights for social media, as well as internal updates on IhsanRD work for staff in Syria, Turkey and USA.
To develop, maintain, and update the organization website, including the production of web content, in a manner that is appealing to the targeted audience. He/she will be responsible for writing, editing, and proofreading site content under the supervision of the Communication and Partnerships Coordinator of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Managing and monitor the Media team inside Syria.
Preparing and develop the communications and media plan in IhsanRD.
Supervising and coordinating the work of the media team inside Syria to ensure the progress of work according to the media plan.
Following up and fulfil the media requirements from donors, partners, and the programs department.
Serve as a focal point for the questions related to Communications and Media in IhsanRD while reporting to CP Coordinator.
Building the capacity of the Media team in Syria in designing and producing both print and online IhsanRD.
promotional and communication materials, including success stories, articles, press releases, videos, newsletters, factsheets, brochures, marketing materials, etc. in line with Syrian Forum Head Office, donor guidelines and the needs for different audiences (donors, public audiences, etc.)
Working with the Media team in Syria to develop high-quality photos, videos, newsletters, and other communications products from raw content gathered in Syria and Turkey to be finalised in close consultation with the Syrian Forum Communications Team in the Head Office and later to be shared with external and internal audiences, as well as work proactively to gather more raw content from programmes teams.
Representing IhsanRD at Communications forums and working-group within humanitarian bodies.
Creating content and managing the website and social media platforms of the organization.
Producing and editing videos related to the different projects in line with the humanitarian policy and vision of the organization.
Producing messages and contents for the advocacy campaigns.
Producing newsletters, success stories and other designs in line with identity and branding policies of IhsanRD.
Coordinating with media to ensure proper coverage of the IhsanRD's programs.
Gathering human-interest stories and conduct interviews with Syrian refugees in Turkey.
Proactively identify new concepts for stories/blogs/Vlogs, sharing ideas for new content with the Comms Officers and working to develop those stories/blogs/vlogs as appropriate.
Managing storage and archiving communications and media materials in order to proper usage and share with the related departments.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
Essential:
- University degree in social sciences, communications or similar background
- A minimum of 2-year experience in an NGO or private company with grants or communications or similar work.
- Computer/word processing and standard office software skills and Adobe suite or any other applications needed to produce designs and video editing.
- Fluent in English (Speaking and Writing).
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.
- Knowledge of blogging ecosystem relevant to the organization’s field.
- Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in Social Media.
- Proficient in content marketing theory and application.
- Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
- Possesses functional knowledge and/or personal experience with WordPress.
- A Team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary. (ie: content development, creation and editing of content, and online reputation management).
- Advanced knowledge with MS Office, WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effect.
- Excellent writing and editing skills. (English and Arabic)
- Require strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Desirable:
- Advanced degree in social sciences, communications or similar background.
- 4-year experience in an NGO or private company with grants or communications or similar work
- Turkish Language.
