General Description of the Organization:
Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population.
Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering humanitarian and development programmes, Food Security, Livelihood, Education, and Protection, to improve their living practices and sustainability mechanisms.
Orange also collaborates with national and international non-governmental organizations, local initiatives responding to the Syrian humanitarian crisis with capacity development programmes, to be better equipped with the skills they need to prepare and respond to affected population’s needs and to ensure that these communities, which we work within, are ready for any future disasters.
Job Purpose:
Orange Organization aims to ceate sustainable youth employment in growth sectors through entrepreneurship support. In Turkey, Orange in cooperation with the donor work to increase the opportunities of SuTP (Syrian under Temporary Protection) and disadvantaged youth from host communities on the labour market and improve their employability by encouraging and supporting their entrepreneurial initiatives .
The Livelihoods Project assistant will be line managed by the livelihoods project manager and will be responsible for the implementation of Livelihoods Opportunities through Sustainability Business in Host Communities SBHC project's activities in the targeted location within the Orange’s program framework and line with Orange’s standards. The assistant will be responsible for leading and overseeing the implementation of planned activities, participating in designing tools, and overall supervision of the activities to ensure proper implementation with full adherence to donors’ requirements.
Duties, objectives and competencies:
§ In coordination with the Project Manager, participate in the development of Orange Livelihoods and enrolment of new ideas in the project feedback mechanism;
§ Ensure that a risk analysis in the area of intervention is in place and regularly updated;
§ Track the activities’ progress within the area of operations and ensure proper collection of project’s indicators and provide on-time internal status reports and external donor reports according to donor and other applicable timeframes and formats;
§ Report all activities within the agreed deadline with adherence to project’s requirements and reporting formats;
§ Ensure confidentiality and data security controls processes are in place and complied with by the project’s staff;
§ Identify and advocate for opportunities to mainstream and expand livelihoods activities;
§ Contribute to the development of monitoring mechanisms for internal learning and appropriate project adjustments in response to new opportunities/challenges
§ Carry out beneficiary identification, selection, training, development activities and sensitization as needed or requested.
§ Work with Orange management and comply with rules and procedures.
§ Keep the direct supervisors regularly updated on all issues related to the project activities.
§ Carry out daily implementation of field activities as required/directed.
§ Assist Project Manager in ensure correct and accountable documentation of all activities, including checking attendance sheets, stock reports, meeting minutes, along with ensuring that all necessary amounts or signatures are collected.
§ Contribute to the liaison with Turkish institutions and local authorities, local NGO partners and CBOs concerning the project implementation;
§ Adhere fully to the commitments and rules of Orange’s Code of Conduct;
§ Undertake any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the PM
Requirements:
§ Business administration, Economy, or relevant field of study..
§ At least 1 years of proven work experience within the field of livelihoods project implementation in Turkey;
§ Excellent proven technical knowledge;
§ Strong communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with multiple parties and external stakeholders;
§ Very good reporting skills;
§ Sound judgment and ability to make impartial recommendations;
§ Very good computer skills including MS office.
§ Excellent English and Arabic language skills (spoken, written and reading), Turkish will be an asset;
§ Experience delivering capacity building training and materials development is preferred;
§ Hard-working, proactive and able to prioritise and delegate a demanding workload.
§ Turkish Nationality is required for this position.
